The Allegany County Health Department has released the latest COVID-19 data and some of the numbers are encouraging.
• CDC COVID-19 Community Level: Low
• Percent of County Population Who Have Received a Complete Primary COVID Vaccine Series: 57.5%
• Cumulative Allegany County COVID Cases: 21,341
• Cumulative Allegany County Deaths: 384
• Cases Per 100,000 People: 15.42 (Maryland: 11.53)
• Positivity Rate: 8.89% (Maryland: 11.01%)

The Allegany County Health Department continues to offer free drive-thru COVID testing at the Allegany County Fairgrounds on Mondays from 2-7 p.m. and on Wednesdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. COVID vaccination clinics are held by appointment at the health department on Willowbrook Road in Cumberland on Wednesdays.
