Allegany County’s tourism website, mdmountainside.com, brings together the many events and celebrations the region has to offer visitors to the area. County Tourism Director Ashli Workman says her department can also help visitors with unique experiences through personalizing their visit to the county, based on their interests…
" We usually try to ask them what their interest level you know, are you someone that really likes to be in the outdoors do you find yourself more appreciative of our arts and culture scene and then we really try to guide them based on that if it's a little bit of all three things we come up with a really diverse itinerary."
Workman says there are also itineraries already put together that visitors and residents can access on the tourism website, highlighting different areas of interest in the county…
" We actually have an itinerary page and we developed these itineraries you know really kind of on an ongoing basis here in the office we get inspired by you know different things. I think our latest itinerary is a coal heritage trail where are we focus on different aspects of coal heritage story here and Allegany County."
