County Election Board Prevents Double Voting

October 25th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

Election integrity is a hot-topic across the country.  Some states require identification to vote, some do not. Others scrub voter rolls regularly to ensure their registrations are up to date.  With early voting starting today in Maryland, WCBC asked Allegany County Election Administrator Diane Loibel how those early voters are prevented from voting a second time at the polls on November 5 – she says they follow a standard procedure to keep that from happening…

“We do an update to the poll books after early voting for all of the poll books to import that data from early voting so we don’t have anybody trying to vote twice.”
