Friday morning, the Allegany County Commissioners announced budget adjustments in response to the ongoing fiscal challenges impacting the county’s Emergency Medical Services. Adjustments include the layoff of six probationary crew, shift changes at two stations, and updated staff overtime procedures. Those laid off will receive separation packages. The county points to unsustainable increases in expenditures for the decision to make the staff reductions.
