County Commission President: Vaccination Effort Undercut by Private Suppliers

After overseeing a successful two day clinic last week that saw 1,000 COVID-19 vaccines administered to Allegany County residents, UPMC Western Maryland will not be able to conduct a similar event this week due to a lack of supply from the state. Only 100 doses of vaccine were made available to UPMC this week, which will be used for patients most in need at the hospital. Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade tells WCBC News that in addition to the short supply, there is also no real coordination with the private companies that are distributing the vaccine….
