The 2022 Bob Kirk Invitational Showcase, which will take place from Dec. 8-10 at Allegany College of Maryland, will not only serve as one of the preimier high school basketball tournaments in the country, it also will shine a spotlight on it’s host, the city of Cumberland. It is an event the city would like to take advantage of via advertising. The event will feature two National Interscholastic Basketball Conference matchups a day, in addition to a local game each night, with all of the NIBC matchups televised in the ESPN network. There are levels of advertising tiers available, topping out at $20,000. During the regular work session, members of the mayor and city council discussed which level of commitment would be appropriate.
