City Council Candidate D.A. Tinnen reached out to WCBC News to clarify a statement he made during the recent Candidates Forum held by the radio station. His original statement was that the city or county needs a homeless shelter that does not have the obligations that the Union Rescue Mission has. He told WCBC that what he meant by “obligations” was that the Union Rescue Mission has obligations to follow their program and mission statements so it is not for everyone. The city needs to have a shelter where they can look out for everyone of any religion.
