Tthe annual Coney Christmas celebration throughout the town of Lonaconing is today. A Christmas breakfast kicks off the day, starting at 8am at the Goodwill Fire Department Armory. A parade, scavenger hunt, Santa Claus and a variety of vendors are part of the event be on the lookout for Scrooge and his bag full of coal and gold dollars! Jane McAlpine who coordinates the day, tells WCBC Coney Christmas is all about the community. “It means community. It means providing a variety of stuff for the kids in this community and the adults that like to go around to the vendors. But it’s a fun-filled family day.”
8am-10am – Breakfast with the Firemen – Pancakes, sausage or bacon, home fries & drink, and Good Will Armory.
8am-3pm – Kids Scavenger Hunt
9am-3pm – "It's Raining Cash" Lottery Umbrella at the Good Will Armory.
9am-3pm – Free Kids Craft at the 1st Presbyterian Church
9am-3pm – Craft Show & Bake Sale at the1st Presbyterian Church. Free Admission
9am-3pm – Craft & Vendor Show – Free Admission. Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home
9am-3pm – Homemade Mulled Cider Sale at the Firemen's Pavilion (Main Street)
9am-3pm – Letters to Santa at the Armory
10am-1pm – Cookie Decorating at Firemen's Pavilion (Main Street). Free Admission
10am-1pm – Balloon Lady at George’s Creek Regional Library. Stop in for a free balloon!
10am-2pm – Face Painting & Glitter Tattoos by the Cumberland, Md, Mermaid Pond at Good Will Engine House
10am-2pm – Free cookies and cocoa at Lana Lu Apartments
10am-3pm – George's Creek Florist Open House
10am-3pm – She's So Pretty Holiday Pop Up Shop
11am – Parade along Main Street
11am-2pm – Holiday Storytime with Stacey at the George's Creek Regional Library
11am-3pm – Free Kids Treat at Kelly's Tavern
Noon-2pm – Goodwill Ladies Auxiliary Soup and Hotdog Luncheon at the Good Will Armory
Noon-2pm – Pictures with Santa by Tina Blubaugh Photography at Good Will Armory
Noon-3pm – Popcorn Station at the Armory
Noon-3pm – Kids Winter Carnival – Bounce house, games, burgers and fries at the Good Will Engine House
Noon-3pm – Free fire truck rides (weather permitting) at the Good Will Engine House
