On Thursday, February 13th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a vacant building in the 10 block of Columbia St for a trespassing complaint. Upon arrival, officers were advised that two subjects were observed entering the building that was currently under renovation. Upon a search of the property, officers observed the subjects attempting to flee out a window. Officers were able to stop and place the subjects under arrest without incident. As a result, Eric Leighton Christopher Brewington, 24, and Heidi Storm Townsend, 19, both of Cumberland MD, were issued criminal citations and released, pending trial in District Court.
