On 08/16/2024 at approximately 3:00 PM the Cumberland City Police responded to the 600 block of Columbia Avenue for an assault. Officers spoke to the victim who advised Kiera Camaraza had thrown a chair at them injuring their arm. Officers observed minor injuries to the victim. Camaraza was arrested and was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Camaraza received a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and was released on her personal recognizance.

On 08/10/2023 at approximately 2:00 PM the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to the 800 block of Columbia Avenue for an assault. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim and observed injuries consistent with an assault. The victim refused to cooperate with officers. Two independent witnesses advised they observed Kevin Bailey striking the victim and then strangle them. Based on the observed injuries and the independent witnesses’ statements, Bailey was placed under arrest. Bailey was seen before a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.
