On 7/11/2021 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 600 block of Bedford Street for a reported assault. Upon officers arrival they spoke with a victim who advised that Shantay Jessie had struck them in the face and bit them. Officers observed injuries consistent with an assault and subsequently placed Jessie under arrest. Officers continued their investigation and learned there was a second victim. That victim advised that during the assault Jessie had spit in their face. Jessie was taken before a District Court Commissioner where she was released on an unsecured $2,500 bond.
Arrest: Shantay Lorraine Jessie, Age 29, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges : Two Counts of Second Degree Assault.

On Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Jerica Brooke Weedon charging her with 2nd degree assault. The summons was issued by District Court for an incident that took place at a Massachusetts Avenue residence on May 23rd, 2021 where Weedon is alleged to have assaulted the complainant. She signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial at District Court.
