On Sunday, January 30^th, 2022 the Cumberland Police served an arrest warrant on Tifenie Earlene Broadwater, age 28 of Cumberland MD. The warrant was the result of an assault that occurred on Saturday, January 29^th at a residence on the 700 block of Lincoln St. Police were called to the residence for a report of an assault that had occurred. Upon arrival officers spoke to the victim, who advised that she had been struck with a wooden object by Broadwater. The victim had visible injuries. When officers attempted to detain Broadwater, she became combative and spit in one of the officer’s face. Due to medical issues she was taken for treatment and charges were filed for both assaults. Broadwater was charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault and one count of Reckless Endangerment. She was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment.
