On Friday, August 30, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Sondra Brotemarkle. The warrant was issued as the result of Brotemarkle failing to appear in court. She was originally charged with driving without a license. She was arrested and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for bond hearing. Brotemarkle, aged 63, was released on her personal recognizance.

On Saturday August 17, 2013, at 12:18 pm, Cumberland City Police officers responded to a private residence at the 200 block of Race Street for a Domestic Assault. Investigation into this matter revealed that Mary Valentine, age 19 of Cumberland, bit the victim on the wrist causing visible injury. Valentine was placed in custody and transported to the Cumberland Police Department for processing. Valentine was processed, served and taken to the Allegany County District Court Commissioners office for a bond review. Valentine was released on her personal recognizance pending trial. The victim did not require medical attention.
