Warrant Served
On 04/24/2024 at approximately 5:00 PM the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to Baltimore Street on the downtown mall for an assault. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim and several witnesses. The victim advised a male pushing a bicycle began yelling at them and for no reason and began striking them in the face. They provided a description of the suspect and additional officers located Elias James Harr a short distance away. Harr was placed under arrest for an unrelated warrant at that time. An application for charges was submitted to the District Court Commissioner and an Arrest Warrant was issued. On 04/26/2024 the Cumberland City Police Department served the Arrest Warrant on Harr who was still incarcerated from the unrelated warrant.

Charges – Affray, 2 counts of Assault 2nd Degree, 2 counts of Disturbing the Peace, 2 counts of Disorderly Conduct
Warrant Served
On 04/26/2024 the Cumberland City Police Department served an Arrest Warrant on David Bernauer. Bernauer violated the conditions of probation from a previous theft conviction. Bernauer was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Bernauer received a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and was held on a $500.00 bond.

***Adult Arrest***
On Friday, February 24th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police arrested Arthur Tejena Bunbasi Jr, 25, of Cumberland MD. Bunbasi was arrested on an outstanding Bench Warrant issued by the Allegany County Circuit Court on February 22nd, 2024. The warrant alleges Bunbasi violated the terms of Pretrial Supervision that stemmed from a previous first-degree assault charge. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.

***Adult Arrest***
On Friday, February 24th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police arrested William Jacob Mongold Jr, 26, of Cumberland MD. Mongold was arrested two separate warrants issued by both the Circuit and District Courts of Allegany County. A Circuit Cout Bench Warrant was issued on February 16th, alleging Mongold violated the terms and conditions of his probation that were placed upon him due to a CDS distribution conviction. The second warrant was issued by the District Court for an incident that occurred on February21st, at a residence in the 200 block of Memorial Ave. During that incident, Cumberland Police units responded to the scene for the report of a robbery. During the investigation, it was learned that Mongold had forced his way into the home and assaulted a female victim. It was then alleged that Mongold stole property from the victim and fled the area on foot. As a result, an application for charges was filed and the arrest warrant issued. Mongold was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.
