ARREST
On August 25, 2023, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department arrested Tanner Steven Schweinsburg for Destruction of Property and 1st Degree Arson. Officers were dispatched to a local bank were a suspect was attempting to gain access into the ATM machine. As Officers arrived they observed Mr. Schweinsburg using a blow torch in an attempt to gain access into the ATM. As Officers approached Mr. Schweinsburg, he began striking the ATM with the blow torch. Officers began to give Mr. Schweinsburg verbal commands to stop destroying the machine. Mr. Schweinsburg then stopped and began to approach the Officers with the blow torch. After a brief struggle, Mr. Schweinsburg was taken into custody. He was later transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Arrest: Tanner Steven Schweinsburg, age 34, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Destruction of Property, Arson 1st degree.
Bench Warrants served
On August 25, 2023 Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on William Victor Wight. The original incident occurred on August 18, 2023. Officers were dispatched to Patterson Avenue for a subject that had been assaulted by Mr. Wight and another individual. An application for charges was completed against both Mr. Wight and the other suspect, and this arrest warrant was issued. Mr. Wight was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and was held without bond.
Arrest: William Victor Wight, age 38, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Assault 1st degree, Assault 2nd degree and reckless endangerment. Wight was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Bench Warrants Served
On August 25, 2023 Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a Bench Warrant on Ashley Marie Decarlo. The original charges were Assault 2nd and Disorderly Conduct. Ms. Decarlo was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Arrest: Ashley Marie Decarlo, age 37, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Bench Warrant Failure to Comply.
On August 25, 2023 Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a Bench Warrant on Michael Anthony Butler Jr. The original charge was Disorderly Conduct. Mr. Butler Jr. was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center and held without bond.
Arrest: Michael Anthony Butler Jr., age 35, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: Bench Warrant for Failure to Comply.
