CDS ARREST
On Friday, March 28, 2025 at approximately 10:30 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on W. Industrial Blvd. for a male subject passed out behind the steering wheel of his vehicle.  Police contacted the operator who was identified as Andrew Viney.  Officers discovered that the registration plates on Viney’s vehicle had been stolen from another vehicle.  Officers also learned that Viney had an active arrest warrant through West Virginia.  Viney was placed under arrest and searched.  Viney was found to be in possession of suspected controlled dangerous substances and paraphernalia.  Viney was transported to Central Booking and later seen by a District Court Commissioner for a bond hearing.  At the conclusion, Viney was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED
On Friday, March 28, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department served criminal summonses on Shane Williams, Haley Portmess, and Tiffany Davis.  The summonses were issued as the result of an incident that occurred on March 3, 2025 at approximately 2:43 PM when officers responded to a residence in the 300 block of Dorn Avenue for an assault.  Police contacted Williams, Portmess, and Davis and learned that a mutual assault had occurred between parties.  After further investigation, police filed for charges against them at the District Court of Allegany County.  All parties signed for their copy of the summons and they were released pending trial.

CHARGES:  Assault-2nd Degree

On March 21, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department served a Bench Warrant on Christopher Lynn Cage. The warrant was issued after Mr. Cage failed to appear for his original charge of CDS possession. Cage was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for his initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner.  

Arrested: Christopher Lynn Cage, age 38, Cumberland Maryland.

Charge: CDS-Possession of Paraphernalia
