On Friday, February 14, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Natasha Thomas.  The summons was issued in connection with a theft investigation that began on February 4, 2025.  On that date at approximately 11:59 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business on Park Street for reports of past thefts.  Police contacted the staff who reported that the same suspect stole merchandise from the store on January 19, 2025 and February 1, 2025.  The suspect was identified as Natasha Thomas.  After further investigation, police filed for charges against Thomas at the District Court of Allegany County.  Thomas was released pending trial.

CHARGES:  Theft less than $100, Theft $100 to under $1500

On Friday, February 14, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Maranda Pearson.  The summons was issued as the result of an incident that occurred on December 13, 2024.  On that date at approximately PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department arrested Maranda Pearson on an active bench warrant.  During the arrest, police noticed that Pearson attempted to destroy a container which was in her possession.  Police determined that suspected fentanyl was in the container.  Additional suspected fentanyl was located in her possession.  The officer filed for charges against Pearson at the District Court of Allegany County.  Pearson was released pending trial.
