Both the Cumberland City Police and Allegany County Sheriff’s Department are looking for new officers. Applications are being accepted through December 12 for Cumberland city police officers who must be at least 21 years of age. The starting salary for entry-level officers with the city is $50,062 per year. The Allegany County Detention Center will have open interviews for Correctional Officers on December 11 from 8:30am to 3pm at the YMCA on Kelly Road. Applicants must be 18 years or older. The starting salary with the Sheriff’s office is $45,796.
