With construction set to begin in April on the $15 million Baltimore Street redesign project – city officials have begun discussions on the possible distribution of some of the downtown assets. If the decision is for the city to remove, salvage and give away the items, there could be some cost associated involved- as opposed to simply having the contractor remove and dispose of the lights, bricks, bike racks and benches. City Engineer Bobby Smith made no formal recommendation, but did strongly suggest that allowing the contractor to handle the situation would be the easiest, most cost effective action for the city…
