City Hall Closed July 4th & 5th

July 2nd, 2024 by WCBC Radio

City Hall will be closed Thursday, July 4, 2024 and Friday July 5, 2024 in observance of Independence Day, with no employees available on those days. Current regular operations of City Hall will be closed to the public, with staff resuming operations on Monday, 8th. The City of Cumberland also reminds residents that trash and recycling will not be picked up on July 4, 2024.

On Thursday, July 4, 2024 there will be no trash or recycling collection for the THURSDAY routes due to the observance of the holiday. If you reside on the affected THURSDAY routes, your collections will resume the following Monday (Co-Mingled Recycling Day).  All other collection days remain on the regular schedule.

Mixed Paper Recycling for the Thursday routes will resume Thursday July 11, 2024.

Recycle wisely.  Many picnic items create more trash and recycling over the holiday weekend, but you can choose to reduce & reuse instead:  Use cloth tablecloths and napkins, reusable utensils, plates, beverage containers, etc.

See the City’s website for what containers and materials are recyclable! https://www.ci.cumberland.md.us/224/Curbside-Recycling
