A draft ordinance was discussed at Tuesday’s Cumberland Mayor and City Council work session that would ban food and drink from being brought, possessed, or consumed at Riverside Park. It is another move being considered by the City to help with the ongoing issues of trash and vermin affecting the area around the historic George Washington Headquarters. " Serious historical significance and you know bringing food onto the property presents its own problems from the standpoint of just throwing away in trash can but it's not covered up, throwing on the ground rats, vermin running all that stuff. That's not really what you want for the George Washington headquarters."
