Pennsylvania law enforcement are investigating two separate cases of ID theft in Bedford County.
In one case, a Hyndman resident was scammed through online means by a bad actor telling them their computer had a virus. The victim lost just under $3,000 that the scammer had them convert to bitcoin for computer updates the victim never received.
In another case, Tracy Gauthier of Mann’s Choice was arrested after opening an electric utility account using her daughter’s identity and did not make utility payments in a total amount of over $4,600.00
