In the brief hiatus before Baltimore Street officially opens to traffic, the City of Cumberland was able to install this year’s Christmas tree in the parklet at Liberty and Baltimore Streets. Devin Burke of the City shared some details about the tree that was donated by the Matthews Family on Bedford Street…
"It's a beautiful 25 foot, white spruce… it's actually kind of a cool. They gave me a little sprig of it, you get a little hint of citrus to it. It's a beautiful tree, full all the way around, perfect size for the new downtown opening."
The tree should be decked out for the holidays by the end of the week.
