On Friday, November 8, 2024 at approximately 6:58 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 400 block of Chestnut Street for an assault. Police contacted an alleged victim who reported that he had been assaulted by Malik Freeman. Officers contacted Freeman who was very uncooperative and creating a disturbance. Freeman was placed under arrest and later transported to Central Booking. He was seen by a District Court Commissioner and held at the Allegany County Detention Center on a temporary commitment-recalcitrant.

CHARGES: Assault-1st Degree, Assault-2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct
