The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation is pleased to announce the transfer of 118 Baltimore Street (aka “The M&T Bank Building”) to CG Enterprises for renovation and redevelopment. The closing on the property took place on August 3, 2022. Built in 1898 as the Rosenbaum Department Store, the 44,000 square foot building is on the National Register of Historic Places and boasts many unique architectural details.
CG Enterprises, comprised of Cumberland businessmen Chris Hendershot and Garrett Eagan, will be redeveloping the building's five floors into a downtown focal point that incorporates local residences, destination vacation stays, as well as serving as a junction where both would cohabitate with building office employees and patronize shops, cuisine and attractions. Redevelopment plans include a first floor lobby restaurant, evening lounge, visitors center/gift shop and market retail spaces. The project also includes second floor office spaces, third floor short term residential units and fourth floor luxury apartment residences. The first floor lobby’s proximity to the adjacent Allegany College of Maryland Culinaire Café provides an opportunity for partnership as an extension of ACM’s program offerings and job training experience for their students as well. CG Enterprises is also currently redeveloping the McMullen Building at 138 Baltimore Street.
“This project is a quintessential example of the type of investment desired for the Historic City Center of Cumberland and the revitalization of Baltimore Street”, says CEDC Executive Director Matt Miller. “In addition to preserving historic community infrastructure, this project provides its own ecosystem of commercial office and retail space, tourism, food service, both Airbnb and long-term residential units as well as education in potential partnership with Allegany College of Maryland. The project at 118 Baltimore Street will provide multiple opportunities for entrepreneurship and job growth in Allegany County”.

CG Enterprises LLC is a real estate development company that owns several properties in the downtown Cumberland area. In addition to real estate, Hendershot and Eagan own and operate the retail store chain Cartridges Galore Video Games, with 8 locations in the tri-state area.
