The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation is close to awarding the bid for a project that will greatly enhance security downtown. The CEDC earlier this year received a state safety grant totaling more than $95,000 which will be used to install a video surveillance system. The grant will cover the costs for cameras, computer equipment, monitors, communication equipment, video recorders and labor. Additionally, the funding will provide Ring doorbell cameras to interested downtown business owners.
