The Cumberland Economic Development Corporation announced Tuesday that the funding gap for the proposed Baltimore Street Redevelopment project is continuing to shrink and that a late summer/early fall groundbreaking remains the goal. The project, which has been met with several delays, is estimated to cost $9.6 million and includes replacing underground utility lines and reinstalling Baltimore Street through the pedestrian mall. CEDC executive director Matt Miller, during the regular monthly meeting, said that $500,000 for the project is included by way of a grant in the state’s preliminary capital budget.
