Caucus Asks Governor To Rescind Executive Order

September 5th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland House Republican Caucus is asking Governor Moore to rescind an order that would put Maryland construction workers at a competitive disadvantage.  The executive order requires the consideration of a Project Labor Agreement on large construction projects and often favors union labor.  Currently, almost 90% of Maryland’s construction workers are non-union.  Moore’s order appears related to the contract for rebuilding the Francis Scott Key Bridge that was awarded to a Nebraska firm.
