Supply chain issues and skyrocketing inflation has forced the city to delay groundbreaking for the Baltimore Street/Casper R Taylor Bridge replacement project to next spring. Bids for the project were received this week with all three construction firms coming in well above the estimated $4 million price tag. The lowest bid received came from Carl Belt Construction totaling a little more than $4.7 million. Triton Construction of St. Albans West Virginia bid was $5.8 million; while Orders Construction, also out of St Albans came in at $6.6 million.
