Maryland U.S. Senator Ben Cardin, Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued a statement Tuesday on Iran’s rocket attack on Israel. Cardin said that the attacks serve as more undeniable evidence of Iran’s support for Hamas, Hezbollah, and other proxies in the region. The deliberate strikes on civilian populations is concerning. He said it is clear that Iran must step back and halt this dangerous escalation as a wider regional war serves no one’s interest.
