On Saturday, September 14, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served an arrest warrant on Shawn Gladden. The warrant was issued as the result of a burglary incident that was investigated on September 12, 2024. On this date at approximately 10:50 PM, officers responded to a residence in the 200 block of Baltimore Street for the report of a female yelling for help. When police arrived, they contacted Shawn Gladden and another female inside the residence. It was later determined that neither subject had permission to be at the residence. Police filed for charges against Gladden at the District Court of Allegany County. Gladden was arrested and searched. Gladden was found to be in possession of CDS paraphernalia. Gladden was transported to Central Booking and issued a criminal citation for the drug paraphernalia. Gladden was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and posted a $2,500 unsecured personal bond.

On Saturday, at 8:55 AM, Cumberland Police responded to the 100 block of Columbia Street for a burglary complaint. Upon arrival officers made contact with the complainants who had heard noise inside a vacant address. Officers then located an open door leading into the residence. They then entered the residence and found Matthew Norris, age 46 of Cumberland, Maryland inside. Officers confirmed that Norris did not live there and did not have permission from the owner to be inside. Subsequently, Norris was placed under arrest for fourth degree burglary. Norris was later taken before a District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance and held on $5000 bond.
