Families will have a little money back in their pockets this year as they will no longer have to pay for breakfast and lunch for their students that attend Allegany County Public schools. At Tuesday’s School Board meeting, Todd Lutton, Supervisor of Food Services for the county schools, announced that the Community Eligibility Provision through the Federal government, provides the funding for low income counties…
Lutton said they had started the program a few schools and then expanded to county-wide. Families do not have to do anything for students to receive the breakfast and lunch benefit…
"and no application needed. So, before they had to fill out a free and reduce application unless they were automatically qualified. So, that's a huge plus at my office, out at the schools at the administration level, and for parents not to fill out that application. "
