At Wednesday’s Maryland Board of Public Works meeting, the Department of Natural Resources secured Open Space funding to purchase just over 91 acres of unimproved land. The former Smith property will be an addition to the 48,000-acre Green Ridge State Forest managed by the Maryland Forest Service. The acreage was acquired for $215,750.
