On Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a vacant Boone St. residence for the report of a breaking and entering. Once on scene, officers contacted the owners of the property, who advised they had come to the property to change the locks after recently evicting the previous tenant. When they arrived, they found the front door had been kicked in, and the previous tenant asleep inside. Officers then contacted the previous tenant who advised that they had been inside the property. As a result, Samantha Michelle Nelson, 33, of Cumberland, MD, was placed under arrest. She was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where she was released on an unsecured $2500 bond.
