On August 28, 2024, Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Boone Street in reference to a disturbance. Officers could hear loud arguing coming from inside a residence. Officers made contact with a victim, who advised Joseph Garris, stole money from her and does not have permission to be at the residence. Officers learned that Joseph was currently out on pretrial release due to a domestic assault between him and the victim. Joseph’s pretrial release conditions are not to have contact, harass, or enter the residence. Officers placed Joseph under arrest and transported him to Central Booking where he is currently awaiting a bond hearing.
