The Allegany County Board of Education, by a 3-2 vote, rejected a proposal to revisit the final nine weeks of the school calendar. The meeting on Tuesday night saw representatives from the education association as well as several teachers making impassioned pleas for a return to Friday as a virtual learning day- something they said provides a break for teachers and students. Board member Tammy Fraley made motion at the start of the meeting to discuss the calendar by was voted down. Later in the session- Fraley and board memnber Deb Frank brought the matter back to the table for further discussion- but that effort also failed with members Crystal Bender, David Bohn and Robert Farrell in opposition.
