Twelve bears were killed on the fourth day of Maryland's annual black bear hunt Thursday, according to the Department of Natural Resources. That brought this year's hunt total to 72 bears, which included 27 males and 45 females. The county breakdown of bears checked in was 50 in Garrett, 12 in Allegany, six in Washington and four in Frederick. The hunt began Monday and continues through Saturday.
