One of the executive orders signed by President Donald Trump halts the further approvals of funding for offshore wind projects across the country. Currently, a wind farm of 114 turbines is in preliminary construction off the coast of Ocean City. Maryland Senator Mary Beth Carozza has introduced Senate Bill 675 that would look at the cost of such energy sources…
“To require the Public Service Commission to study the true and full cost of developing offshore-wind energy compared to more reliable energy sources. The local threat on tourism, fishing, marine life, and energy costs is very real – and is a risk to Maryland’s economy.”
