On Monday, December 1, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department served a Circuit Court bench warrant on Michael Mumaw. The warrant was issued as the result of Mumaw violating probation on an original charge of Neglect of a Minor. Mumaw was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond pending his appearance before the court.

On Monday, November 24th, 2025, officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Interstate 68 near Maryland Ave for the report of a male subject exposing himself to passersby. Upon arrival, officers observed the male clearly exposing his buttocks near the roadway. The subject was identified as John Robert Scott Jr, 50, of Cumberland MD. It was at that time, it was learned that Scott had an active warrant for his arrest in Washington County Maryland for failing to appear in Circuit Court on a previous theft charge. Scott was placed under arrest and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center.

CHARGES - Bench Warrant-Fail to Appear, Disorderly Conduct, CDS Possession Paraphernalia.
