Maryland hunters harvested 125 black bears during the annual black bear hunt in Allegany, Frederick, Garrett and Washington counties. Allegany County harvested 24 bears during the hunt. Throughout the counties, there were 52 males and 73 females taken. The largest bear had a live weight of 650 pounds, taken in Frederick County. Despite a warm weather start to the hunt week, hunters brought in 22 more bears than last season.
