On 08/17/2024 at approximately 10:45 PM the Cumberland City Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue for an assault. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who advised Benjamin Lapp assaulted them after an argument over property. Officers observed minor injuries to the victim.
Lapp was placed under arrest and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center for central booking. Lapp was also served an Arrest Warrant for violation of probation from a previous theft charge. Lapp received a hearing before a District Court Commissioner and was held on a $500.00 bond.
