On Thursday, February 13th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department arrested Dustin Michael Edwards, 34, of Cumberland MD. Edwards was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on February 12th, 2025. On that date, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 700 block of Bedford St for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers learned that Edwards had assaulted two juveniles in the home before fleeing the area on foot. After a search of the area, Edwards was unable to be located. As a result, an application for charges was submitted, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.  He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance where he was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.
