On Sunday, April 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Benjamin Jacob Reimer, 42, of Cumberland MD. Reimer was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on November 28th, 2022. During that incident, officers responded to a property in the 400 block of Greene St. The owner of the property advised officers that they had stopped by to do some maintenance to the property and discovered Reimer inside a utility room to the rear of the property. When confronted, Reimer fled from the scene on foot. It was then discovered that Reimer had damaged the property and left behind a backpack containing the tools used to burglarize the property. Reimer was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was released on a $3000 unsecured personal bond.

Charges: Burglary 2nd Degree, Burglary 4th Degree- Theft, Burglary 4th Degree-Tools, Burglary 4th Degree-Store, Malicious Destruction of Property.
On Sunday, April 9th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Melody Joy Llewellyn, 44, of Frostburg MD. Llewellyn was arrested on two active Arrest Warrants issued by the Allegany County District Court for an incident that occurred on April 8th in the 12000 block of Willowbrook Rd. During that incident, it is alleged that Llewellyn attacked two staff members of a medical facility. The attack resulted in serious physical injuries to one of the victims/employees. Llewellyn was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She is currently being held without bond.

The Cumberland Police served an Arrest Warrant on Brian Elsworth Johnson, age 58, of Cumberland, MD. The Warrant charged Johnson with False Statement to a Police Officer, Obstructing Justice, and Obstructing and Hindering. The charges stemmed from an investigation regarding false allegations that Johnson made. On September 5th, 2022, Johnson arrived at the Cumberland Police Station to report that he had been assaulted by a female, and that a knife had been involved. Johnson showed Officers injuries that he had sustained. As a result, an application of charges was filed on the female suspect and she was ultimately arrested. At the female’s bond review, Johnson advised the court that these events had not occurred. He was interviewed a second time, this time admitting that the original events had not occurred. An application of charges was then filed on Johnson due to his false report to the police and a Warrant was issued. Johnson was taken to Central Booking for his initial appearance before the District Court Commissioner and released on a $3,000 Unsecured Bond.
