A statue erected in 1914 designed to honor Confederate soldiers in the Civil War and promote reconciliation between North and South has been removed from its place in Arlington National Cemetery. Local Historian Ed Taylor, Jr says it is a sign of things to come for all monuments and headstones…
The statue that was removed is being relocated to the New Market Battlefield State Historical Park in Virginia. Taylor said that ignorance about US history is causing more actions like this to be taken – he relayed a story about a couple touring a local cemetery and their knowledge of history…
