Archaeologists Dig For Evidence of Cresap Fort

Excavations in search of Colonel Thomas Cresap’s fort in Oldtown are part of the Maryland Historic Trust’s Tyler Bastian Field Session through June 10.  Following up on work from 2020 and 2023, archaeologists will continue to seek evidence of the 18th century fort and dwelling of frontiersman Cresap, also known as the Maryland Monster.
