Two area anglers have been announced as winners of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources second annual Monster Trout Contest. The fishermen caught tagged monster trout which were stocked during the DNR’s two weeks of fall stocking in October. More than 6,000 pounds of trophy-size monster trout weighing up to six pounds were stocked in West Virginia streams. Anglers who caught a monster trout submitted photos of their catch with tag number to win a weekend cabin stay or Cabela prize package. The grand prize winner was Jamie Holbrook of Hyndman, Pennsylvania and Louie Nickelson of Romney, West Virginia was also a prize winner.
