The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and Maryland State Police have combined resources to target open and active warrants.
As a result, the following individuals have been apprehended Thursday, December 14, 2023.
Javas Chayton Bohrer, 22 of Cumberland, was served a Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation. His original conviction was for False Statement to Officer where he was sentenced to 6 months incarceration with all but 41 days suspended and 3-years of Supervised probation. He is currently held without bond pending a bail review.
Matthew Alan Portmess, 40 of Frostburg, was served a District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Comply. His Original Charge is: CDS: Possess-Not Cannabis. He is being held without bond until his trail date.
Tavante Ernest Jones, 27 of Cumberland, was served a Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation. His original conviction was for felony CDS: Distribution: Narcotics where he received an 8-year jail sentence with all but 18-months suspended and 3-years supervised probation. He is currently being held without bond pending a bail review in Circuit Court.
Leslie Beth Hatfield, 45 of Oakland, was served on a Garrett County District Court Arrest Warrant. She is being charged with the following: 6 counts of Animal Cruelty Failure: Provide, 6 counts of Animal – Abandonment, 6 counts of Cruelty to Animal – Neglect, and 6 counts of Cruelty To Animal – Abandonment. She is currently being held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center pending a bail review in District Court.
