Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputies completed a lengthy investigation into Austin Harrison

Allegany County Sheriff’s Deputies had completed a lengthy investigation into the whereabouts of Austin Harrison; a person with numerous warrants for his arrest, which include felony charges of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, Robbery, 1st Degree Assault and others. Austin Harrison is known to have a stolen handgun in his possession and is currently considered to be armed and dangerous. Austin Harrison had successfully fled from West Virginia authorities earlier on this date.

The deputies investigation revealed that Jennifer Miller of Barton was currently with Austin Harrison and she had taken him into a nearby residence where he could remain undetected. Deputies located the residence in question and successfully gathered supportive information that Austin Harrison and Jennifer Miller were inside. A secure perimeter was established around the house to prevent Austin Harrison from escaping and avoiding his apprehension.

The Maryland State Police and Cumberland City Police officers responded to assist. The homeowner gave deputies permission to enter the residence in any way possible to capture Austin Harrison. Deputies forced entry into the residence and located Jennifer Miller in the downstairs area. Deputies, along with the Maryland State Police and Cumberland City Police officers, located Austin Harrison in an upstairs bedroom. Austin Harrison was then placed under arrest without incident. Jennifer Miller was also placed under arrest and charged with the appropriate criminal charges.

Austin Harrison, 25-year-old, of Westernport Maryland was served with the following charges:

·       Attempted 2nd Degree Murder

·       Robbery

·       Assault 1st Degree

·       Assault 2nd Degree

·       Burglary 4th Degree

·       Theft $1500 to under $25,000

·       Violation of PreTrial-Release x2

 

Jennifer Nicole Miller, 32 years old, of Barton Maryland was charged with the following criminal charges:

·       Knowingly Harbor a Fleeing Felon

·       Obstruct and Hinder

The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the citizens of Allegany County who had provided helpful information to deputies.

The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office was assisted with apprehending Austin Harrison at the Barton residence by the Maryland State Police and the Cumberland City Police Department. The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office is thankful for their assistance on scene as well as the great working relationship we have between the agencies.

Austin Harrison and Jennifer Miller were both held without bond and remain in the custody of the Allegany County Detention Center.
