The Allegany County Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to approve the superintendent’s proposed FY 2024 budget which total $34.2 million- which represents a 7.4% increase in local funding. Finance Director Larry Mckenzie provided an overview beginning a look at the top priorities…
Mckenzie noted that there are still some bills being considered in the Maryland General Assembly that could have a fiscal impact and result in some changes; and he added that the budget will be presented to the Allegany County Commissioners in public session later this month.
