Allegany College of Maryland and the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation will host a Manufacturing Job Fair from 1 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Western Maryland Works at Allegany College of Maryland. Jobseekers will have the chance to meet face-to-face with employers from American Efficiency Services, Berkeley Springs Instruments, FedEx – Hagerstown, Garrett Container Systems, Hub Labels, Mellott, Northop Grumman and Schroeder Industries, among others. Western Maryland Works was established to meet workforce demand for manufacturing and technology jobs by preparing future employees for regional manufacturing and technology needs. The upcoming job fair should serve to demonstrate how effective the Western Maryland Works program has been in training and retraining individuals- creating a more skilled and diverse work force.
